XL Academics is a cooperative, internet-based educational venture between institutions of higher learning and employers. The purpose of XL Academics is to prepare individuals to be leaders in a variety of professional settings. To accomplish this goal, students must possess transferable knowledge and skills that will allow them to be successful in the workplace.
This internet-based, virtual community of mentoring services provide individualized planning to diverse adult learners. Learners are assisted in their advancement of the technical and practical skills needed to ease the transition from school to the workplace: for the purpose of job search, job enrichment, and successful career transitioning.
Throughout the course of this program students will engage in Mentor/ Mentee relationships that are structured toward the field in which they are interested in working. The proposed area of study will allow students to pursue structured learning experiences including Webinars, Student Development Planning, as well as potential internships, to achieve learning outcomes in each of these areas.
